Having just celebrated this year - 2007 its 30 years of membership of the United Nations and its recent election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, Viet Nam is taking an increasingly active role in the work of the biggest international organization in various domains ranging from socio-economic development, disarmament and international peace and security, human rights to UN reform.
