The People’s Standing Committee of Hainan Province, China recently enacted a set of measures to implement the Fisheries Law of the People's Republic of China, which came into effect from 1 January 2014. According to these measures, foreigners and foreign fishing vessels entering waters under Hainan Province’s administration for fishing or marine resources surveys without permission will be expelled and may be subject to confiscation and administrative fines

Mongolian President visits Viet Nam (Nov. 21-24)

At the invitation of President Truong Tan Sang, President Tsakhiagin Elbegdorj of Mongolia is paying a State visit to Viet Nam from today November 21 to 24, 2013.

The visit is aimed at strengthening and promoting the traditional friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Mongolia.

President Tsakhiagin Elbegdorj and President Truong Tan Sang will hold talks to discuss orientations to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all areas, particularly economics and trade, agriculture, environment, culture, education, exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The Vietnamese National Assembly passed the Law of the Sea of Viet Nam on June 21, 2012. The passage of the law is a normal legislative activitiy that aims at completing the Vietnamese legal framework, serving the usage, management, protection of the country’s sea, islands and maritime development, facilitating its international integration and enhancing its cooperation with other countries for the sake of peace and stability in the region and the world.
