Deputy PM Minh made the proposal on Wednesday in Ha Noi while receiving Mr. David O’Sullivan, the Chief Operating Officer of the European Union's diplomatic corps, the European External Action Service.

According to Mr. Minh, Viet Nam hopes that the EU would early ratify the EU-Viet Nam Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) and recognize the Southeast Asian country as a market economy.

Viet Nam said Deputy PM Minh attaches importance to the ties with the EU and treasured the donor country for increasing official development assistance (ODA) in the 2014-2020 period.

Mr. David O’Sullivan took the occasion to report the host leader about the outcomes of the third deputy minister-level political consultation between Viet Nam and the EU.

He also reaffirmed the commitment to coordinate with Viet Nam to finalize the negotiations for the EVFAT in 2014./.
