Viet Nam supports Palestine’s efforts to soon become UN member

On 20th September 2011, in response to the question about the Palestine’s decision to submit its official proposal to the United Nations requesting the organization’s membership, Mr. Luong Thanh Nghi, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, said:

“Viet Nam has recognized the state of Palestine since 1988 and always supports regional and international efforts towards the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state that co-exists peacefully with the neighboring Israeli state with their borderline set up before June 1967.

In that spirit, Viet Nam supports Palestine’s efforts to soon become a member of the United Nations.”
