10-16-2007, 05:26 am

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Nong Duc Manh left Pyongyang for Viet Nam on October 18, wrapping up his official visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

A farewell ceremony was held at the Pyongyang International Airport for General Secretary Manh and his delegation with the participation of Kim Jong-Il, General Secretary of the Korean Workers’ Party and Chairman of the National Defence Commission.

In a message of thanks cabled to General Secretary Kim Jong-Il, the Vietnamese Party leader said he believed that high-level agreements reached between Viet Nam and the DPRK during this visit would create an impetus to lift cooperation and traditional friendship between the two countries, parties and public to a new arena.

He also said that DPRK, under the leadership of the Korean Workers’ Party led by General Secretary Kim Jong-Il, will make greater achievements.

Earlier the same day, General Secretary Manh and his delegation visited Mikok farm in suburban Pyongyang.-(VNA)
