General
Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Nong Duc Manh left
Pyongyang for Viet Nam on October 18, wrapping up his official visit to
the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
A
farewell ceremony was held at the Pyongyang International Airport for
General Secretary Manh and his delegation with the participation of Kim
Jong-Il, General Secretary of the Korean Workers’ Party and Chairman of
the National Defence Commission.
In
a message of thanks cabled to General Secretary Kim Jong-Il, the
Vietnamese Party leader said he believed that high-level agreements
reached between Viet Nam and the DPRK during this visit would create an
impetus to lift cooperation and traditional friendship between the two
countries, parties and public to a new arena.
He
also said that DPRK, under the leadership of the Korean Workers’ Party
led by General Secretary Kim Jong-Il, will make greater achievements.
Earlier the same day, General Secretary Manh and his delegation visited Mikok farm in suburban Pyongyang.-(VNA)
