MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS' SPOKESMAN - MR. LE DZUNG
ANSWERS QUESTION ON 4th OCTOBER  2007

Question:  Could you comment on the joint document reached at the recent session of the six - party talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issues on 3rd October 2007?

Answer:

Vietnam advocates denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and wishes to see peace, stability and development in North East Asia.

Vietnam welcomes and appreciates positive outcomes of the last session of the six - party talks, considering this an important advance in the Korean Peninsula’s denuclearization roadmap. We expect the concerned parties will soon reach positive solutions to satisfactorily solve the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula, thus maintaining peace and stability in North East Asia and the world.

Within our capacity, Vietnam is willing to make active contributions to this process
