Remarks by FM Spokesman Le Hai Binh on 21 March 2014 regarding the joining of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Russian Federation

In response to media’s question regarding Viet Nam’s position on the joining of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Russian Federation, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh on 21 March 2014 said:

Viet Nam is closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine and Crimea. We hope that all issues will be solved through peaceful measures with respect to the basic principles of the international law and the people’s legitimate aspiration so that the stability will soon be restored for the sake of peace and stability in the region and the world over.
