HCM City draws 1.6 billion USD in foreign investment

Ho Chi Minh City drew in 1.6 billion USD in foreign investment, a year-on-year increase of 17.3 percent.

The city welcomed 349 new investment projects worth 1.36 billion USD, and saw additional capital of 245 million USD pumped into existing projects

111 of the projects, valued at 259.4 million USD are operating in industry; 159 projects worth 965 million USD in property and consultation; 42 projects worth 39.6 million USD in construction; 17 projects valued at 5.4 million USD in transport; and 4 projects worth 93.8 million USD in culture and sports.

Republic of Korea businesses had 118 projects with a combined value of 811 million USD. Singapore had 37 projects valued at 290 million USD and the British Virgin Islands , 16 projects with 158.9 million USD.
