Meeting
with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, the Vice President expressed
hopes that the King and the Cambodian Government would create
favourable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to do business and
invest in Cambodia on the basis of mutual benefit.
King Sihamoni
said he was pleased with the growing friendship between the two
countries and affirmed he will follow former King Norodom Sihanuk’s
example and further foster and cement this bilateral fraternal
friendship.
At her meeting with Belgian Prime Minister Yves
Leterme on issues of mutual concerns, Madame Doan thanked the Belgian
Government and people for their assistance, including aid for the
development of education, science and technology, to the Vietnamese
people.
Doan asked the Belgian Government to continue granting aid, especially university scholarships, to Vietnam.
The
Belgian Prime Minister reiterated that his country attaches importance
to Vietnam in its foreign policy, especially in issues relating to
cooperation and development assistance.
On the day, Vice State
President Doan also met with Malian President Amadou Toumani Toure and
Guinean Prime Minister Lansana Kouyate, to whom she affirmed Vietnam is
eager to boost cooperation with the two African countries and to send
experts over to help them develop agriculture, health care and
education.
The Malian and Guinean leaders said their countries
need more help from Vietnam in the field of agriculture so that they
are able to ensure food security in the future.
