Vietnam’s position on Kwangmyongsong-2 satellite launching by DPRK

On 5th April 2009, in response to foreign journalists’ questions about Vietnam’s position on Kwangmyongsong-2 satellite launching by the DPRK, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Spokesman Le Dzung said:

According to the information from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) and some other international news agencies, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea launched Kwangmyongsong-2 communication satellite at around 09.30 am Hanoi time on 5th April 2009.

Vietnam follows with interest the above development and hopes that the parties concerned react with caution and handle the problem satisfactorily, refrain from complicating the situation, affecting peace and stability in North East Asia.
