The members of the Security Council
condemn in the strongest possible terms the attack of 8 July on a UNAMID
military and police convoy in Darfur which resulted in 7 deaths and a further
22 personnel being wounded. The attack was the most severe on UNAMID since its
deployment.
The
members of the Security Council stress that any attack or threat against UNAMID is
unacceptable, and demand that there be no further attacks.
The
members of the Security Council express their deep condolences to the families of the
victims and solidarity to UNAMID staff.
The members of the Security Council call for
the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
The
members of the Security Council look forward to a further briefing on the matter.
